Sarah Cobb - USA Thursday 28.10 full day multiple choice |
The eyes come in pairs. Imbalances in binocular posturing such as over and under convergence (esophoria, exophoria, convergence excess or insufficiency) weaken accommodation and can cause myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia. Energetic, sensory and movement differences between the two eyes bring ocular stress and can result in strabismus and amblyopia. Even slight vertical misalignment of the eyes can bring debilitating symptoms and double vision. All of these stress the brain and result in visual complaints, diminished visual efficiency, and poor performance in reading, sports, writing, even in social skills. Almost everyone has weak areas in their binocular vision and will benefit from enhancement exercises. This workshop will cover the symptomatology, detection, and various approaches to training binocular vision problems. |
