Eye Exercises for the Inner Child in You
By Dror Schneider - USA
Wednesday 27.10 half day morning

Recovering your vision doesn't have to be a chore. In fact, you don't get results if you just go through the motions - it's not like pumping iron. Successful vision work is a cross between meditation and child's play. When looking is fun, your brain becomes extra-cooperative - in getting your eyes to focus on a team-mate or work together to follow the path of a ball, for example. Learn eye exercises that involve soap bubbles and water guns, bats, balls, rackets, scoops, and much more. And every one of them will address the needs of your eyes.

Improving your Body, Improving your Eyes
By Meir Schneider, Ph.D., L.M.T. - USA
Thursday 28.10 full day multiple choice

Meir Schneider, using his own odyssey from blindness to full functional vision to develop the basic principles of his Self-Healing Method, will guide and teach you in a fun and nurturing environment how to improve your vision through techniques and exercises that:

• Relax the eyes
• Reduce eyestrain and tension
• Make reading easier
• Improve night vision
• Allow your eyes to adjust to different levels of natural light
• Reduce or eliminate the need for glasses
• Prevent and address vision disorders and diseases

Relaxation of the eyes and proper use will improve eyesight. This is body-mind work: these exercises and techniques train the brain to have better connection with the eyes to create better vision. Thousands of people, with refractive problems such as near and farsightedness and with serious conditions like cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa , double vision and others, have used these exercises to see better. With practice, you can improve your vision permanently. Aren't your eyes worth it?

The Consciousness of Seeing
By Martin Sussman – USA
Thursday 28.10 full day multiple choice

This workshop will be a highly experiential and deep experience for all participants. In it we will explore the essence of the relationship between vision, emotions, mental states and spirit. Participants who are vision teachers are sure to obtain a great deal of knowledge and tips that they can use in their own practice. On the other hand, participants who are not teachers will gain a much deeper self-understanding on how to improve their own vision.

Working with Binocular Vision
Sarah Cobb -
USA
Thursday 28.10 full day multiple choice

The eyes come in pairs. Imbalances in binocular posturing such as over and under convergence (esophoria, exophoria, convergence excess or insufficiency) weaken accommodation and can cause myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia. Energetic, sensory and movement differences between the two eyes bring ocular stress and can result in strabismus and amblyopia. Even slight vertical misalignment of the eyes can bring debilitating symptoms and double vision. All of these stress the brain and result in visual complaints, diminished visual efficiency, and poor performance in reading, sports, writing, even in social skills. Almost everyone has weak areas in their binocular vision and will benefit from enhancement exercises. This workshop will cover the symptomatology, detection, and various approaches to training binocular vision problems.

The Iris Shows the Way to Improving Vision: An Introduction to Integrated Iris Interpretation
By Roberto Kaplan, O.D., M.Ed., FCOVD, FCSO - Austria and Canada
Thursday 28.10 full day multiple choice

Using exercises and games for improving vision is an effective way to enter the physical realm of seeing. However, very often this is not enough. The vision educator needs a quick, reliable and accurate diagnostic tool for finding out what is the mechanism behind the persons ‘non-seeing'.
In this one-day workshop Dr. Kaplan will digitally photograph each participant's eyes and do a personal interpretation of the iris. He will photographically illustrate the three different genetic designs of the iris. There are even, smooth structures (feeling), deeper crypts (emotion), and the raised structures (thinking) in white or deeper colors of yellow, orange or brown. The color changes of the iris during the early part of life correlate to specific events and conditioning for the patient.
To correctly see the inner and outer world requires an integration of the thinking, feeling and emotion. Participants will learn to translate the iris information into meaningful dialogue with the client. This is turn enhances the success of vision improvement. From this information, vision educators can more effectively structure their teaching programs to more fully meet the client's deeper needs.

Attendance limited to no more than 20 persons. The fee includes digital photos of the eyes being taken. The participants can request these photographs to be sent via e-mail after the workshop.

Equilibrium and Vision
By Maria Fernanda Leite Ribeiro – Brazil
Friday 29.10 half day morning multiple choice

Good vision depends on the balanced use of the visual system. The balance between central and peripheral vision and the right use of both eyes is what Fernanda Ribeiro will be discussing based on observation derived from her active practice with hundreds of clients in Brazil .
How to approach and develop perception to the different functional specificities between the different aspects of vision and
between both eyes. This subject will be explored in this workshop and several exercises will show us how to recover the conscious binocular vision, even in those cases where pathologies aggravate disparities.

Natural Vision Improvement with Eight Exercises
By Dr.Sameer Al-Kasab Iraq
Friday October 29.10 half day morning multiple choice

Dr. Sameer Al-Kasab will show us, in a very simple way, how we can see, what parts of the eye and brain are responsible for clear vision and how we can improve vision by stimulating these parts by visual training exercises instead of glasses that cause more harm to the eyes than improving vision.

The struggle to prove his work to a Government Commission set with top eye specialists in Iraq , the difficulties and the successful results on 75 persons with different types of poor vision is a story to be learned. “No one can say again that this treatment in not good, and I continue working in this field till now”, confirms Dr. Al-Kasab.

In this workshop we will get to know Dr.Al-Kasab ' s method, working with his exercises on cases of different types and degrees of refractive errors: it is possible to improve vision dramatically within five minutes after performing these preliminary exercises and this visual improvement is permanent when following the special one-month course working with the eight different exercises.
Come along with your vision problems and discover these exercises. This workshop will be explored further when specific aspects on presbyopia will be worked on, in Dr.Al-Kasab's workshop, on Monday, November 1, afternoon. Check for more details.

Freedom to Be, Freedom to See!
By Brigitte Cavadias - France
Monday 1.11 half day morning multiple choice

Brigitte Cavadias, an Alexander Technique and Bates teacher will be talking about some of her experiences which have contributed to show us in what ways the AlexanderTechnique can be applied to the Art of Seeing.
“I shall mention how, out of my ever present interest in my visual system I began to explore its relationship with my nervous system, both on the unconscious and conscious level and how this enabled me to understand more my manner of using myself in all areas of movement, vision, emotions and all fields of habitual patterns”, explains Brigitte Cavadias.
The Alexander Technique is based on a different way of thinking as a preparatory mean to undertake any activity in daily life as well as in any specific professional activity like, for instance sport or performing. To see is a major part of all our life and while recognising in what ways it could be applied in the Art of Seeing, Brigitte Cavadias will go into some useful details on the Alexander way of thinking as well as how F.M. Alexander discovered and created his Technique. “ I'll endeavour to show how we can provide ourselves in our very ordinary life with a space and time of choice which will lead us effortlessly to our true freedom to be including our freedom to see”, emphasizes B. Cavadias.

Emotions and Vision
By Marie Schils - Belgium
Monday 1.11 half day morning multiple choice

Our eyes are very delicate organs of vision that react with great sensitivity to emotions, to overwhelming situations, to stress. More than anything else, our eyes are the way to get in touch with others, to let us see and express our feelings/emotions.

This practical workshop will be an occasion:

•  to discover how by managing our emotions we influence the state of our eyes, no matter if it regards vitality of the eyes or the tension (hyper/hypo/tonus) of the different muscles of the eye;
•  to overcome the clichés (fear/anger) given to certain vision problems , exploring a whole range of emotions;
•  to understand the impact of traumatisms on the vegetative nervous system or on the level of image/memory;
•  to realise that each person, along his own history, develops a personal and unique way of limiting the use of its eyes;
•  to try certain means to balance the muscle tensions that influence the eye and the state of the cornea to be able to see the world less distorted.
